Bankwest launches Student Edge Debit Card

Bankwest has partnered with one of Australia's largest student services providers, Student Edge, to launch an exclusive Student Edge Debit Card.

To celebrate the launch, Bankwest will now allow trainees and apprentices to also enjoy the benefits of a student account.

Bankwest Head of Deposits, Juan Perez said this partnership provides a wonderful opportunity to support students, who can now benefit from a low fee account, whilst taking advantage of a variety of discounts at Western Australian retail and food outlets.

 "This partnership means high school, TAFE, College, and University students, as well as apprentices and trainees can now use their everyday banking account to claim dozens of discounts," he said.

 "Our Student Edge Debit Card is available only on our Student Account, which offers unlimited electronic transactions and access to Australia's largest ATM network.

"This is a great way for students to minimise their banking costs, and maximise their retail discounts by simply showing their Student Edge Debit Card at participating outlets.

" Student Edge has more than 200,000 members, who benefit from the organisation's 50 largebrand discount partners and free access to online health and wellbeing, study and career tools.

The group is currently expanding to the East Coast, meaning students across the country can apply for a Student Edge Debit Card.

One Regular Saver Account per person and accountholders must be 15 years or older. Maximum allowable deposit of $500 per month. No interest is paid in a month where you make a deposit of less than $50 and/or make withdrawals.

The Regular Saver Account is an account for personal customers aged 15 years or older that can earn credit interest. There is a limit of one account per person, whether as a single or joint account holder. A maximum of two account holders is permitted on the account.

To receive the 7% p.a. interest rate customers must:

• Deposit between $50and $500 each month.
• Make no withdrawals during the month.
• Link the Regular Saver account to another eligible Bankwest account.
• Annual sweep of balance to linked Bankwest account.
